OUR TAILORING:

Our outdoor-theme fabrics with color-coordinated plains and top-grain leathers offer you infinite options in creating upholstered furniture for your rustic getaway.  Fabrics are flow-matched (not just matched) to show the full uninterrupted pattern on the piece, a trademark of high-end upholstered furniture.  Welts (cording) are cut diagonally on the pattern, creating appealing accent lines on the item.  Our dealers are so confident in our craftsmanship that they sometimes send us C.O.M. (customer’s own material) for us to cut, sew and upholster on their orders.

OUR CUSTOM OPTIONS:

Many of the pictures you see in our Photo Gallery combine fabric and leather on one piece.  To make ordering decisions easier for these combinations, you can order each piece in our line in a Leather Accent combination, using fabric and leather exactly as shown on the Leather Accent photos.  To designate a Leather Accent choice, we place an X in front of the item number.  (Example: the NOR030 Northwoods Lodge Chair becomes the XNOR030 when ordered in the Leather Accent combination.)

You are welcome to create your own combinations as well, using fabric-with-leather or fabric-with-fabric.  Your J. B. Lodge dealer can help with your selection.

We truly are special order specialists.  Since we build our own frames, cut each fabric one at a time, and because we are willing to make what you want, we can create unique pieces for your home that reflect your own tastes.  We offer most styles in several standard sizes (long sofa, sofa, loveseat and chair) and we can make custom lengths (including extra-long sofas) in some frame styles.  You can choose the leg finish on any item.  Our standard cushions are designed for long-lasting comfort, but you can also order specialty cushions, such as Spring-Down or Spring-Fiber.  As noted above, we can combine several fabrics on one item:  just tell us what you want where.

OUR FRAMES:

Nobody builds a better frame than J. B. Lodge.  Unlike many other upholstered furniture makers, we built our own frames.  If the frame is not strong, the piece will not serve the customer well for long.  We engineer our frames from select hardwoods and hardwood laminates in the main foundation of each frame. Each frame joint is double-doweled and glued to ensure durability. All four corners of the frame are braced by corner blocks, screwed and glued in place to keep the frame square and strong.

OUR SPRING CONSTRUCTION:

We build seat spring systems the way the best manufacturers do, using 8-way hand-tied coil springs.  Heat-tempered heavy gauge double-cone coil springs are fastened to a strong webbing material covering the bottom of the frame, reinforced with steel bands.  These individual springs are tied together by hand with tough polyester rope to form a spring network that is soft enough for a child to feel the benefit of the spring action yet strong enough to carry a large person without bottoming out.  The coil springs network is covered with a synthetic fiber pad, followed by a neutral, nonabrasive decking material.

OUR SEAT CUSHIONS:

Our standard seat cushion is composed of environmentally-friendly polyurethane foam with soft fiber on the top and bottom sewn into a protective ticking fabric, giving you initial softness and deep support.  Each seat cushion is engineered to best suit the comfort of the frame style, but if you wish, you can change the cushions to Spring-Down, Spring-Fiber or another optional cushion construction for a reasonable upcharge.
